CoronaVirus: What Can We Do Now with Sue Painter

CoronaVirus: What Can We Do Now with Sue Painter

In today’s podcast, we discuss the CoronaVirus with Sue Painter and What Can We Do Now.

What can we do in our businesses and how can we help other businesses while we cope with the CoronaVirus.

I asked Sue Painter of the Confident Marketer to be on the podcast because I was impressed with what I saw her doing online quickly as a response to the CoronaVirus. While many of us were frozen and staring at our screens watch this crisis unfold, Sue Painter, quickly invited her community and other business women to tune in for a Zoom call to discuss the virus and what they can be doing in their businesses.

This Podcast addresses:

  • Travel Businesses & how they are being impacted by the virus
  • Local Businesses & how we can be supportive of them during the crisis
  • Rebuilding customer confidence after the virus.
  • What large corporations like Hanes and Lexington Brewing & Distilling are doing to pivot their business and help during this crisis.
  • Bill Gates and how he predicted the virus. Here is a link to that TedTalk

It’s Never Too Late to Dream Big

I had a very cool experience for Valentine’s Day. My sweetheart took me to see Jodi Benson. You know who Jodi Benson is don’t you?  She is the voice of Ariel, The Little Mermaid. Let me share a few things that Jodi Benson said that I found meaningful.

What I Learned from Jodi Benson

Jodi Benson Never Too Late to Dream Big

When asked what she learned from playing Ariel in the Little Mermaid  She said, “Ariel teaches her all the time…To be brave,..To go for your dreams… To speak your mind…To be honest… To keep your childlike innocence.”

Someone asked her if it’s too late to chase your dreams. And Jodi answered, “it’s never too late, God has a purpose for everyone.”

I was very impressed by Mrs. Benson. She is a true Disney Princess. I loved the way she answered everyone’s questions, especially the little girls in the audience.

This got me thinking about the idea of it never being too late to start a new dream and some of my favorite entrepreneurs who have decided they are not buying into the idea that it is too late.

It’s Never Too Late to Dream Big

Martha Stewart is Always Reinventing Herself

Martha Stewart comes to mind first. Martha was a model in her youth. She was a stockbroker after college. She has reinvented herself over and over as an author, a tv host, a caterer, a decorator, and a chef.

At 63, Martha was convicted in a case about Insider Trading and she went to jail. She accepted her punishment and even helped another inmate get started in the fashion business.

Martha is now almost 80 and she is still going strong. She is creating shows with Snoop Dog  “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” where she is meeting a whole a new generation.

Kate White from Magazine Boss Lady to Best Selling Author

Another one of my favorite encore entrepreneurs is Kate White, she is the former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Working Women, Child, and Redbook. She is now a New York Times best selling author and speaker.

She has several fiction books with titles like:

A Body to Die For and Such a Perfect Wife.

I love her non-fiction titles:

Ernesto Shepard World’s Oldest Performing Female BodyBuilder

Next let’s talk about  Ernesto Shepard. This lady is impressive she is the World’s Oldest Performing Female BodyBuilder (by Guinness World Records)

At 79 Years Young, she started this at 56 when she thought she needed to get in shape to look good in a swim suit. She is a personal trainer and she participates in body building competitions. She definitely adheres the the idea that it is never too late to dream big.

Another Fabulous Encore Entrepreneur is Tamara Monosoff

Tamara Monosoff, worked in the white house, worked in Washington D.C. in the Clinton Administration where she served as Chief of Staff for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education, Education Director for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, and Senior Communications Associate for the President’s Initiative on Race at the White House.

She is an Inventor and the Founder of Mom Invented & the Mom Invented® Brand of products

She is a best selling author of several books including “The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea into the Next Big Thing”

It is never too late to dream big and start something new. I encourage you to get started on a new dream today.

Lifestyle Design

Why I am Relaunching the Podcast

Why am I real launching my podcast when I realized what experience does podcast feed and happens to lotta podcast or’s that goes into creating a podcast and I simply was not ready so what’s new with me in the last year 2019 I wrote and self published a book on Amazon called design your life and business Amazon and it still doing really well I would love for you to check it out – KimberlyLoves.me/book

My book is called Design Your Life & Business and its all about Lifestyle Design.

You might be wondering what does lifestyle design mean exactly. In my book, I define Lifestyle Design as “creating a deliberate and purposeful plan that promotes a desirable life.”

Lifestyle Design means different things to different people. I can tell you what it has meant to me:

  • Meant being able to fly to Arizona and help my sister, who was having a  difficult pregnancy stay for a month without losing my job.
  • Means being able to travel and be there for my family, my grandfather, who recently passed and my beautiful granddaughter  who lives in another state.
  • Meant picking up my kids at school instead of them staying at aftercare or with a nanny.
  • Means having a home cooked dinner with my family every night instead of sitting in I-4 traffic.
  • Meant volunteering with my teenage daughter at Give Kids the World and modeling how to be of service to those in need.
  • Means I can work at in my home office, at Starbucks, or at the beach .

How is Lifestyle Design Good for the World?

Lifestyle Design is better for the environment because  if everyone were designing their life, we would have less traffic, less waste, and more time freedom.

You may think that lifestyle design is a new concept invented by young people like Tim Ferris author of the book the 4 hour workweek.
It’s a strategy that works for the young and the young at heart.
 But it is a concept that goes back to people like Henry David Thoreau, who said, “if one advances confidently to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”

Lifestyle Design is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s not always easy.

How do we design our lifestyle?

I use the word DESIGNER  as an acronym for the steps to designing your life & business.  These steps are used towards creating a lifestyle business that you can run from anywhere in the world.

D = Dream & Decide
E = Engage & Empathize
S = Study & Survey
I = Invest & Ideate
G = Grow with Gratitude
N =  Nurture Yourself & Your Clients
ER = Evaluate & Refine

On this Podcast, we want to hear from you. How you are designing your life? We want to hear your story. To share your story,
KimberlyLoves.me/podcastguest

So it starts with a dream. It starts with dreaming up lots of ideas too many big lofty ideas, maybe you’re like me and you get lots of great ideas and you trouble deciding on the right idea.

I will walk you through how to figure our your best idea and launch a lifestyle business.
Dreaming and the deciding is the first step to lifestyle design.
